The Border Legion
Unabridged Original Classic Edition
by Zane Grey

This quality volume is not machine-scanned or a reproduction of an older edition. Prepared by human editors, it presents the complete unabridged text of Zane Grey’s classic tale in a freshly edited and newly formatted edition printed on heavyweight bright white paper with a fully laminated cover. A generous 6″x9″ page size and 11-point print make this edition easier on the eyes than most modern “trade” or “grocery store” paperbacks.

A classic of the western genre by master storyteller Zane Grey, “The Border Legion” follows the story of Jack Kells, a notorious outlaw leading the feared Border Legion, a gang of ruthless bandits terrorizing the Wild West. Kells encounters Joan Randle, a strong-willed and courageous woman who becomes a pivotal figure in his life.

Joan, kidnapped by Kells, initially despises her captor but gradually perceives a glimmer of humanity beneath his hardened exterior. As she spends more time with Kells, she influences him to confront his own moral dilemmas and question his lawless ways. Their evolving relationship forms the crux of the narrative, exploring the transformative power of love and redemption in the face of relentless adversity.

Grey’s vivid descriptions of the Western landscape, coupled with intense action scenes and complex character development, create an engrossing read. “The Border Legion” encapsulates the raw spirit of the American West, portraying the harsh realities and untamed beauty of the frontier while weaving a compelling tale of personal transformation and the quest for a better life amidst chaos and violence, propelled by Grey’s characteristic mix of action, adventure, romance, violence, conflict, and sentimentalism.

ZANE GREY…

Zane Grey (1872–1939) was an American author best known for his popular western adventure novels and stories. Riders of the Purple Sage (1912) was his best-selling book, and his westerns are still widely read, with many never having been out-of-print. In addition to the perennial commercial success of his books, over 100 film adaptations, several western television series episodes and a television series have been based on Grey’s novels and short stories.

Grey published over 90 books, including those published posthumously and originally published as magazine serials, which have sold over 40 million copies. Grey placed nine different books on the top ten bestsellers list between 1917 and 1926, with sales in excess of 100,000 copies each time. One of the first millionaire authors, sales of Grey’s books exploded all over again in the 1940’s and 1950’s with the advent of paperbacks, and more of his books have become films than any other American author.
